Diet Soda Makes Us Fat

Aw, krap. This sux.*

Now that I've depressed You, let me help cheer You up: this video is carb-o-licious fun.**

*Yes, yes; I understand that researchers do not yet know if it is the soda or the lifestyle, but--yeesh!--it is the difference between hell-fire and brimstone to me.

**Much thanks to The Tsipa for enriching my life with this magnificent Work Of Art.

this sucks. alas, it's not new news...i've been reading about this for a couple years now. i've continued to guzzle the stuff undeterred, but perhaps it's time to stop the denial. wanna get off the sauce together?

(btw, i had pasted some links to other articles on it in the comment, but the text didn't wrap when it posted, so it just looked like an obnoxious bunch of totally unusable crap. that's why i deleted the other comment.)

lizzie, deeluxgal,

You CAN get off the sauce. If I can do it, anyone can. I used to drink about six pack a day, but I gave it up two years ago now and I never miss it.

Here's how I did it. I started out buying Hansen's Natural Sodas instead, because I just HAD to gave something cold, sweet, and fizzy. At first, they tasted weird and healthy to me, and not so good. After a couple of months, even those stared tasting too sweet to me, and I was able to switch to the flavored Talking Rains, Now I am perfectly happy with plain sparkling water for my cold fizzy fix and anything else just tastes WAY too sweet.

(doing my best to not sound sanctimonious, but DUDE, I'm proud of myself! The Diet Coke is tough to shake.)
